90-Day Onboarding Plan
The purpose of the 90-Day Plan is to provide clear goals, milestones, and structured support during a new hire's critical first months.
This example 90-Day Plan was created for a UX Writer joining my team. While this serves as a template, I customize plans for each new team member based on their skill level, experience, and role.
The plan includes 30, 60, and 90-day check-ins, which give both the new team member and me an opportunity to align on expectations, discuss progress, and address any challenges.
These check-ins have been especially valuable—many of my new hires have expressed how much they appreciated the structured feedback and guidance. In fact, some team members have requested to continue monthly check-ins beyond the initial 90 days because they found them so helpful.
A strong start builds confidence, accelerates productivity, and fosters a sense of belonging. This plan ensures every new hire has the tools and support they need to succeed from day one.
